We had a good experience at the Marriage Intensive. The leaders did a great job with creating an atmosphere of open communication and acceptance, while challenging us in good ways. I think that my spouse gained a lot more awareness of where I am in our relationship and why I have been seeking out counseling. Some of the exercises were very helpful, especially in looking at how we react to each other in conflict. I have become a lot more aware of taking time to listen carefully and make sure my spouse feels heard, not just react to what they say. I was able to identify and forgive more of a root issue during this past weekend, which was a great blessing. And I have a greater sense of freedom from my habit of holding a “record of wrongs.” I look forward to working through the follow-up material and hope to be in touch in the future.

We are doing really, really well. The arguments have really diminished since the retreat. We attend church together on most Sundays. We continue to communicate more effectively and our love & marriage continues to flourish. It is a work in progress but we are happy most of the time!
